Aujourd’hui se disputait la 55è édition de la Flèche Brabançonne qui avait été gagnée l’année dernière par Philippe Gilbert (BMC). Dans les favoris il y avait Philippe Gilbert (BMC), Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) vainqueur en 2013, Michael Matthews (Orica), Alaphilippe (Etixx), Gallopin (Lotto-Soudal) etc… Le vainqueur est un invité surprise. Qui pensait le voir gagner la Flèche Brabançonne parmi tous ses favoris? Le vainqueur qui succède à Philippe Gilbert est tout simplement son coéquipier, Ben Hermans.
C’était un final très tendu avec plusieurs attaques, dont David Tanner (IAM) et Ben Hermans (BMC). Dans l’échappée du jour il y avait Thomas De Gendt (Lotto-Soudal), Anthony Delaplace (Bretagne-Séché Environnement) et Alex Kirsch (Cult Energy Pro). Le belge devance Michael Matthews (Orica) et Philippe Gilbert (BMC). A noté aussi le retour de Blel Kadri (AG2R) sur les routes.
